This week we had an exciting challenge. We were given a task and were told to spend the day researching, then join back as a group at the end to have a discussion about our thoughts. I actually really enjoyed this way of learning and
took a lot from the session.
The theme was all about designing for the future and how designers brains are always future oriented.
These are the topics I chose to explore during the day, which sounded most interesting
Initial thoughts when I first read the statement...
I chose to explore topics 38 & 47 on the above list in depth, continuing with some desk based research ascertaining how these scenarios have developed into the modern world.
Reading the articles below was very intriguing to learn about how design has developed today's world for the better and how these developments could help future lives...
The main article that fascinated me are that scientists have managed to erase and then restore a rats knowledge, meaning they hope in the future they may be able to perform this treatment on humans with memory problems. For example people who have developed alzheimer's which sadly affects so many, especially at a young age giving them there life and independence back which would be amazing.
Additionally, machines now can predict if someone is at high risk of a heart attack up to 5 years before it happens through AI technology. This invention is already saving so many lives because early prevention is so important.
Understanding and reading people's personal stories and how design has helped shape their lives is so interesting. This makes me excited for the future and what is going to be created to help even more lives, making the world a better place.
